Kerbside Recycling
Hebrides Alpha provides a kerbside recycling service for the uplift of plastics, glass, cans and paper in the following areas: Outend Coll to Tolsta, Point, North Lochs (Grimshader, Ranish, Crossbost, Leurbost, Cameron Terrace, Keose, Laxay and Balallan) and from Achmore to Carloway.
We provide customers with a green wheelie bin and a supply of clear bags and take the waste to Creed Park Recycling Plant at a cost of £3 per fortnight, invoiced quarterly.
Plastic, glass, cans and paper should be placed in separate bags.
Some folk don’t have a lot of glass, cans or paper, so these could put them in separate Co-op/Tesco type bags.
It would be helpful if each bag of waste was tied, to prevent spilling.
All waste should be fairly clean with all contents removed.
Bin should be at the roadside by 9am on the day of collection.
We collect fortnightly, every 2nd Friday.
We send invoices out quarterly (£18 or £21 per quarter, depending on the number of uplifts in that period). We charge the £3 whether the bin is put out to the road or not.
